Handmade Catholic Shop sends quarterly care packages to our American Troops overseas. Our package for the Spring included 16 packs of tissues and a box of 30 disposable razors, much needed hygiene items in the Middle East for our soldiers! In the past we have sent drink mixes, peanuts, turkey jerky, stress reliever balls, stationery, flashlights, mints, pens, toothbrushes, hats, socks, scarves, and letters to remember those who serve. How to Make a Brown Scapular
Ever wonder how your scapular gets from a bolt of wool to a finished product? Check out the story below! Step 1: Begin with a bolt of wool and cut out 2" wide strips. Glue images of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel to the wool and cut into squares. Cut out braids to 23". Step 2: Glue edges of the braids underneath the tops of the pictures. Sew cathedral stitching around all four edges of the pictures. Step 3: Trim the edges of the wool nicely around the images. Tie the braids with a simple knot. Your scapular is ready...
